Dope. Inspiring. Fire. Love. Amazing. Genius. Crispy. Hard.
Those are some of the words used to describe Xavier Perry – an up and coming illustrator, graphic designer, muralist, and woodworker based in Atlanta known for creating imaginative, custom designed coffee tables, bar stools, wall art, stage platforms, murals, and so much more.
Born and raised in Atlanta, his initial goal was to become a swimmer after graduating from high school. While his love for swimming ran deep, his passion for art led him to San Diego's Mira Costa University 3D Animation program. He attributes his motivation for wanting to pursue art as a career to an elementary school teacher who noticed his talent.
She took me to the Center for Puppetry Arts next to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta...and bought me an art kit. She saw something in me that neither me or my mom saw.
As fate would have it, he would later transfer to SCAD Atlanta and earn his bachelor of fine arts degree in Illustration with a focus on graphic design. Shortly after graduating, he interned at the ABV Agency and Gallery, which led to him collaborating with a group of artist selected by the National Geographic Kids who received a Guinness World Record for building "The Largest Toilet Paper Roll Sculpture".
Having a desire to promote peace, equality, and unity through visual art, in 2018 he launched his personal brand, The Love Bomb project as a form of self-healing. Inspired by the pink and blue hues that traditionally represent boys and girls, Xavier originally created signature canvas paintings. Soon, demand for his inspiring and whimsical art grew, prompting him to design clothing, shoes, public murals, eatable treats, and more.
His signature brand caught the attention of an Xfinity Art Series representative later that year, leading to Xavier designing a custom t-shirt for the Atlanta Braves and participating in a shirt signing at the Xfinity Rooftop at SunTrust Park during one of their games and another shirt signing at an Xfinity store.
In addition to being a visual artist, Xavier is also a talented woodworker and furniture designer. He is a featured artist/teacher on The Desire Company's YouTube channel where he has over 40 how-to and review videos all about woodworking tools and techniques.
